Reflections...la segunda parte

After our first clinical experience in San Pancho, I am so glad that I made the decision to take advantage of this opportunity given to us, especially as a junior student. The learning curve was steep and I quickly got to work on cases that I never could have dreamed of at home! It is such a one of a kind and encouraging experience to be stopped on the street and thanked for the work we are doing here. I am really looking forward to the weeks ahead and the work it brings!..........................................................................  Heather

I have learned a lot from the people of San pancho but one of the most important things that I am constantly reminded of, which most of us often forget, is that money can't buy happiness, and the people of San pancho continue to prove this every day by their positive attitudes and how they come together as one big family................................................Dallas

The rich culture, slower pace of life, and amazing kindness of the people of San Pancho is incomparable to anything that I have ever experienced before in other countries and back home in BC. The town itself is diverse in terms of buildings, shops, and people and everyone is on 'Mexico time' where strict time schedules and structured plans are taken light heartedly.  From walking down the street and receiving a smile and a pleasant "Hola!" from each person that you pass to the gratefulness of our patients from Entreamigos is truly heartwarming.................... Everyone is San Pancho has been very welcoming and grateful for the work we are doing here. I have seen improvement in my clinic skills as I work on more difficult cases. As a clinician, I have grown so much in the just the two weeks that we've been here. It is very heartbreaking to see so many young children with rampant decay or broken teeth and to know that the resources available to them to get it restored is very limited......Rachelle.
